I had the putter head Custom refinished in a brown patina. Its not painted but an oxide finish and there are very minor imperfections. I choose to customize the paint fill versus keeping the traditional color scheme. There is no rust and I oiled the carbon steel head before storing it away. I would rate the putter a 9 out of 10.
